Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, Permanent Secretary, Bishram Kuppen, Chief Executive Officer, Guyana Water Inc (GWI). Shaik Baksh, members of the board, Directors, stakeholders, staff from GWI and their families, participated in a walkathon on Sunday to commence World Water Day week of activities.
Rodrigues during her message stressed the importance of treating water as a natural resource and conserving it for the benefit of all since it’s a scarce commodity. According to a release from GWI, Baksh emphasized the need to conserve water, as many others around the world do not have access to clean water, which can cause conflicts.
This year’s observance of World Water Day revolves around the theme “ Leveraging Water for Peace”.
