The Ministry of Health yesterday received a donation of 500 units of Haliborange Baby and Toddler Multivitamin Liquid from Massy Distribution, valued at $700,000.
Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony received the donation from Bhashkaranand Singh, Director Massy Distribution at the Ministry of Health’s Headquarters, Brickdam.
“We have an interesting programme that was started in the ministry, and that is to screen every school-age child to make sure that they’re healthy. We’ve started at nursery, and we screen about 12,000 children and we are completing that screening this year, then move on to primary, and our target this year is to get to 7000 students screen. While we’re screening them we’re checking for different things and if we see anything that is abnormal we are going to pick that up early and fix it, and in some cases we see kids that will need different types of nutrition and I think this would work well for that particular programme”, the Minister said, according to a release from his ministry.
