Dear Editor,
I am a resident of Belvedere, in the Corentyne and during March we have had to put up with seven power outages or blackouts as I prefer to call them. These blackouts occurred on a random basis and in three cases they were prolonged as the chart below indicates. None appeared to correspond with the ‘Power Watch’ schedules.
I accept that GPL has a difficult job with limited resources and aging equipment but I think they should offer an explanation to their customers as to why this is happening together with some assurance that they are working on ways to prevent these outages as a matter of urgency.
Editor, I am told that when similar outages occur in Georgetown and the East Coast, GPL provides information through social media, so why not here in the Ancient County? Why are we kept in the dark?
