Dear Editor,
The Stabroek News may be ‘Guyana’s most trusted newspaper’ but is it the national journal of record? In recent weeks the current Director of the CIA William J. Burns, former US President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejoune plus a clutch of senior US military figures have visited Guyana. All are world figures.
The only coverage I have seen in your organ is the odd picture of a state dinner or similar. No analysis of why they are there and no attempt to interview them about the raison d’etre of their visit.
Journals of record have to be just that.
Otherwise they are just the wrapping on market vegetables are they not?
