With the aim of bringing joy to the faces of children during the Easter season, proprietor of  N.S Bacchus Sawmil, Ameer Bacchus, over the weekend distributed 2000 kites in communities and riverine villages in Region Six and Ten

Bacchus said the distribution of kites is a part of the company’s longstanding corporate social responsibility.

Kites were distributed to children in Aroraima, Ladderville, Sandhills, Wairuni, Calcuni, Ituni, Kwakwani, DeVeldt, St Cuthbert’s Mission, Linden and communities along the East Bank of Berbice.

The activity is also done in commemoration of his father Nuri Shalaan Bacchus, a popular logger and businessman third death anniversary.

He explained, during his father’s management of the operations, kite distribution has been a usual feature of the business.  Following his death and the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions over the past few years, the businessman said they were unable to continue the activities. He was elated that they can return with the activity and enlighten the children on the meaning of the season.
