Three Commissioners of Title to be appointed – JSC

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) yesterday announced the appointments of magistrates Esther Sam, Renita Singh and Christel Lambert as Commissioners of Title to serve in the Land Court in Essequibo and Berbice.

In a statement, the JSC said that the trio previously served as state counsel in the Chambers of the Attorney General and the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions before becoming magistrates.

They will subscribe to the Oath of Office for appointment as Commissioner of Title before Prime Minister Mark Phillips tomorrow.

On February 19, the JSC announced that nine attorneys at law had been selected to serve as magistrates. The nine: Omadatt Chandan, Tamieka Clarke, Abigail Gibbs, Tuanna Hardy, Shivani Lalaram, Michelle Matthias, Ravindra Mohabir,  Teriq Mohammed and Orinthia Schmidt were subsequently sworn in.

The JSC is now expected to address the appointment of judges to the High Court.
