LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)

The Lucas Stock Index grew 0.857 percent on the sale of 77,625 shares during the first period of trading in April 2024.  Seven stocks were traded this week and the activities produced three Climbers and one Tumbler. The Climbers outgained the Tumbler, resulting in the index gaining over G$6.7B in value.   

The stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) increased 2.941 percent on the sale of 63,445 shares while that of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) rose 1.961 percent on the sale of 2,000 shares.  In addition, the stock price of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) rose 0.814 percent on the sale of 984 shares.

In contrast, the stock price of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) fell 1.250 percent on the sale of 407 shares.

In the meanwhile, the stock price of Caribbean Container Inc., Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 10,350; 77 and 362 shares respectively.
