Forty-eight-year-old Lee Holder, of Lot 661 Paradise, East Coast Demerara, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Holder was not required to plead to the charge.

It was alleged that back in March, 2024, he drove his motorcar in a manner dangerous to the public thereby causing the death of Conal Husbands. The accident occurred at Church and Cummings streets.

His attorney made an application for bail citing that Holder is unwell and is currently on dialysis treatment.

The prosecutor did not object to bail, but did request that it be a substantial amount.

The magistrate placed Holder on $200,000 bail and the matter was adjourned to May 7.
