The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) on Friday hosted a lottery in Bartica, Region 7 for medium-scale mining properties.
It was the 2nd lottery of medium scale mining properties within three years, a release from the Ministry of Natural Resources said.
The release said that more than 500 registrations were done and many were in attendance to witness the allocation of the blocks.
In determining the areas to be allocated via a lottery, the GGMC conducted preliminary studies to ensure that there was mineral potential.
