Santos, Eastveldt, Buxton Stars march on in Sweet 16 football

Santos, Eastveldt, and Buxton Stars advanced in the East Coast Sweet 16 Football Championship following contrasting wins at the Buxton Community Centre ground.

Santos thumped the Beacons 4-1. Bevney Marks bagged a first-half double in the 33rd and 38th minutes, while Jermaine Padmore recorded a second-half brace in the 58th and 70th minutes. For the loser, Makhi Adams netted in the 65th minute.

Likewise, Eastveldt demolished Order and Discipline 4-1. David George tallied a second-half hat-trick in the 50th, 70th, and 72nd minutes, while Tohari Canterbury scored in the 47th minute. For the loser, Bevon Griffith scored in the eighth minute.

On the other hand, the Buxton Stars edged the Golden Stars 1-0. Shemar Scott crafted the only conversion of the contest in the 52nd minute. The event continues at the same venue on Wednesday.
