Police from Regional 4 ‘C’ Division have arrested two suspects in relation to the murder of Joseph Forde.

Forde called ‘Who U’, a 44-year-old construction worker of Lot 38 Middle Street, Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara, was chopped to death on Thursday between 21.30 and 21.45 hours at Victoria Road, East Coast Demerara, by a man known as ‘Fatta’ and ‘Kevin’.

Investigations revealed that on Tuesday, April 30, at about 21.20 hours, Forde had intervened in a chopping incident between the suspect and a man of Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, which resulted in an argument between Forde and the suspect, which was eventually resolved.

Following that chopping incident, Forde had contacted the victim’s relatives, who took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

On Thursday at about 21:45 hours, a friend of the deceased said that he received a cellphone call from a taxi driver informing him that Forde had been chopped and had been taken to Georgetown Public Hospital. The taxi driver went on to add that Forde had succumbed to his injuries, the police release stated.
