Six thousand hinterland homes to receive solar systems

Six thousand homes across 25 hinterland communities in Guyana will receive solar home systems following the inauguration on Monday of the Sustainable Business Models for Rural Electrification and Energy Access in Guyana Project by the Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MPI), a release from MPI said.

Police to probe report of 10-year-old in lockups

Following a report in yesterday’s Stabroek News under the headline `Mother disgusted ten-year-old held in police lockups over the weekend” in which it is reported that a ten-year-old boy was placed in the lockups at the Springlands Police Station, Police Commissioner Seelall Persaud has directed the Police Office of Professional Responsibility to conduct an urgent investigation into the matter, a release from the police said.
