PPP accuses city council of failure to act ahead of flash flood

The ruling party yesterday took aim at the Georgetown Mayor and City Council (M&CC) over its failure to deal with the city’s garbage problem and dysfunctional and drainage and irrigation system ahead of last week’s flash flooding, despite available  help from Public Works and Agriculture ministries.

Food for the Poor donates 30 mattresses to Sand Creek dormitory

The Ministry of Amerindian Affairs received a donation of 30 mattresses from Food for the Poor for the Sand Creek secondary school dormitory in Region 9 which is also accommodating 50 additional students from the North Pakaraimas in Region 8, owing to overcrowding at the Paramakatoi secondary school dormitory.
