CJ denies application aimed at quashing Synergy contract

Management consultant, Ramon Gaskin approached the High Court earlier this month for orders to have the Ministry of Public Works and NICIL defend the Amaila Falls road contract awarded to Synergy Holdings but the applications were denied by the acting Chief Justice, Ian Chang who said no evidence was presented to support the case nor was the court persuaded that the public good would be served.

Live-in employee died of cirrhosis

Lochan Singh Ramdin, the 56-year-old man who was found dead at his workplace at Guysons Engineering, West Ruimveldt on Tuesday died as a result of cirrhosis of the liver, an autopsy found yesterday.

Abary farmers complain about cattle rustling

Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee told Abary farmers that steps will be taken to change which police station they can take complaints of cattle rustling and other crimes to and he encouraged them to form CGPs to help stem the incidences.
