Dear Editor, A week ago, I asked the CEO of Sithe Global some rather straightforward questions (‘Some questions for Bruce Wrobel‘ SN, January 29).

Dear Editor, With reference to an article in Guyana Times dated February 1, wherein the President, Guyana Teachers’ Union, Mr Colin Bynoe stated that the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) “has chosen to do their own thing in terms of what the criteria should be without first consulting or meeting (GTU) formally,”  the Teaching Service Commission wishes to set the record straight.

Ministry of Sport disturbed by procedure used to sensationalize apparent sloth in progress of synthetic track

Dear Editor, With respect to a recent article (‘Synthetic track stuck at phase one…‘ SN, Jan 27) on the progress – or lack thereof – in the construction of a Synthetic Track and Field Facility (Phase 1, Leonora Community Centre Ground) the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport offers you this brief response: Firstly, from the perspectives of both ministerial responsibility and proper journalistic protocol, the ministry is disturbed once again at the procedure used to sensationalize the issue of apparent sloth in terms of the progress of the construction project.

Gecom should be reformed

Dear Editor, I hope the PPP, AFC and APNU/PNC are listening to the people of Guyana who were disgusted with the performance of Gecom after the November 28, 2011 election.
