Dear Editor, In the light of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report regarding Guyana National Insurance Scheme pension, as reported in SN in its July 3 issue, the President of Guyana, Dr Jagdeo should personally and publicly make an official statement giving NIS pensioners the assurance that their minuscule pensions are secure and protected from roving, ruthless, predators and an undependable board of directors.

Dear Editor, With reference to an article by Treiston Joseph in the Stabroek News sport section dated July 2, 2011 titled ‘Guyana sending 29 athletes to ALBA games in Venezuela,’ it was stated in the third paragraph that this would be the first time that our country would be sending athletes to the Olympic-style event.

Dear Editor,I may be very late in congratulating Natural Black and First Born, but I find myself listening and studying their songs. 

Dear Editor,I refer to Dr Joey Jagan’s letter titled ‘Shared coalition governance is the only way to go?’

Dear Editor,I am by no means an AFC supporter but I acknowledge that the AFC is, despite its flaws, the best of the current lot.

Dear Editor, I would like to congratulate Mr Khurshid Sattaur and the Guyana Revenue Authority for upgrading the operations at the agency as well as making the agency more people friendly.

Dear Editor, With regards to your news item on the cabinet reshuffle in Trinidad, the preliminary qualitative findings of a NACTA poll being conducted in Trinidad show overwhelming endorsement among voters of the Prime Minister’s cabinet reshuffle but they are not pleased with some of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s  appointees. 

Dear Editor, In a letter to the Stabroek News published on April 27, 2011, Abu Bakr eruditely speculated that there is no statute of limitations, and that perpetrators of election rigging could yet find themselves facing the judges.

Dear Editor, I would like to congratulate the GRA for putting measures in place towards the provision of a better service to the public and taking steps recently to ensure higher levels of transparency.

Dear Editor, Now that Clico (Guyana) has settled its liabilities (to an extent) to the Guyanese people, I would like to know what action would be taken against those who were responsible for the loss of income to policyholders as a result of their mismanagement and inefficiency, and the increase in their stress levels for more than a year.
