Dear Editor, Dr Cheddi Jagan was the son of down-trodden sugar workers, who was conscious of rich versus poor, of the economic and social disparity between classes and the need for struggle and solutions in the pursuit of social justice for all workers.

Dear Editor, I want to take this opportunity to offer a pat on the back to President Bharrat Jagdeo for his efforts at securing an intention from Norway to partially fund the needs of the LCDS.

Dear Editor, I wish to refer to Dr Kenrick Hunte’s article entitled ‘Guyana’s agriculture is in a downward spiral’ dated December 14, in which he argued that  agricultural output for several sub-sectors had declined during the period 2000 to 2008.

Dear Editor, The article in Stabroek News dated December 17, 2009 captioned ‘Berbice bauxite talks in limbo,’ with a strap line which claimed, ‘-Tuesday meeting scrapped after company failed to show up’ is erroneous.

Dear Editor, As President of the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and a senior executive of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) I would like to place on record my displeasure and disappointment with the non-selection of Christopher Barnwell in the Guyana national team for the upcoming regional first-class season.

Dear Editor, I refer to a letter penned by Mr D Deonarine regarding the right of the Commission-er-General to make public comments in relation to government policies, which appeared in the Stabroek News, dated December 14, and titled ‘The Commission-er-General of the GRA should not be commenting on government policy.’

Dear Editor, The Guyana Agriculture Producers Association (GAPA) and other crop farmers take umbrage at the comments and insinuations of Dr Kenrick Hunte’s letter (‘Guyana should re-establish an agricultural development bank’ SN, December 14) and the Kaieteur News’ Peeping Tom column.
