Dear Editor, The euphoria which Guyanese are presently caught up in is most understandable after what the country has gone through during the last five months.

Dear Editor, Please allow me to respond to Mr. Frederick Kissoon’s letter `It is not difficult to measure ethnic distribution of income and wealth’ (SN, 23/07/2020) in which he offers a sincere apology for calling myself and Dr.

Dear Editor,  I offer sincere congratulations to the joinder parties – ANUG, LJP and TNM on their attainment of one seat in Parliament.

Dear Editor, The circus is over. A tortured nation can breathe a sigh of relief.

Dear Editor, A new President was sworn in on Sunday, August 2, 2020 after half of a year of stress, strain and the vagaries of our judiciary.

Dear Editor, The election crisis is over and a new government is in place.

Dear Editor, Away from the dirty business of Guyanese politics, I am sad to report the deaths of two of my favourite cousins – Elaine Smith and Peter Vyfhuis.

Dear Editor, I want to stay on an even keel today and for the foreseeable future. 

Dear Editor, Guyanese everywhere and Guyana’s many friends are relieved and grateful that the worst of times are over.

Dear Editor, A new president was sworn in to office in Guyana, five months to the day after the election and after numerous attempts to affect the final count to an Election Day which was recognized by every credible international and national observer group to have been a success.

Dear Editor, The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown is extending a final invitation to auto dealers to attend a meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 2pm.

Dear Editor, I extend my best to the new leader and his administration. 

Dear Editor, Thank you Mr. Granger! Congratulations Irfaan Ali: Leadership is an amazing privilege and honour even though many times it does not feel so.

Dear Editor, National unity will not occur when at any given time half of Guyana’s population feels left out of the political process.

Dear Editor, Rejoice! Rejoice! (to quote Margaret Thatcher…) The President has seen sense and retired to Pearl to seek wisdom.

Dear Editor, It has been a long struggle to have the right winner declared in the elections.

Dear Editor, In a dramatic development which saw the restoration of constitutional order five months to the day after the March 2 elections, Dr Irfaan Ali, presidential candidate of the PPP/C, was declared as President by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) and sworn in by the Chancellor of the Judiciary as the ninth President of Guyana.

Dear Editor, The Stabroek Block was described as, “an extraordinary world-class asset” in a recent investor conference call by John Hess.

Dear Editor, England came from behind and scored an impressive 2 – 1 victory over the West Indies to regain the Wisden Trophy after the West Indies had slaughtered them in the first of three test matches played between the two teams in England.

Dear Editor,  Congratulations Irfaan Ali on becoming President of Guyana. I know that you are in the partying mood but you need to hit the ground running and deliver on that 50,000 jobs-creation promise as nothing less will do.
