Need for Local Gov’t Commission to intervene in staffing situation at City Hall

Dear Editor, Article 78A of the Constitution reads as follows: “Parliament shall establish a Local Government Commission, the composition and rules of which empower the Commission to deal with as it deems fit, all matters related to the regulation and staffing of local government organs and with dispute resolution within and between local government organs.”

Minister Trotman was fully aware he needed to hire oil and gas experts, Guyana has lost massive amounts via disastrous negotiations

Dear Editor, The Honourable Minister Trotman, in the Guyana Standard online publication on the 28th May 2019, said “… at no point during his tenure did he (Jan Mangal) ever request that capacity be developed or that the relevant expertise be hired to ensure independent reviews of data on the Stabroek Block which would be submitted by ExxonMobil.”
