Dear Editor,
I have learnt of the recent appointment of Mr Monty Lynch, the former Guyana and England batsman as the new Territorial Development Officer (TDO) of the Guyana Cricket Board, replacing former West Indies fast bowler Reon King whose tenure may have become untenable following the installation of the Interim Management Committee by the government.
Dear Editor,
I refer to a letter written by Mr Hydar Ally and entitled, ‘Guyanese should get involved in the Grow More Food campaign,’ (SN, June 19) in which he compliments Guyanese farmers for increased food production, claiming that this has kept agricultural produce prices relatively stable.
Dear Editor,
A letter by Jennifer Bulkan, ‘It is the moral duty of the gov’t to ban styrofoam’ (SN, June 3), got my full attention, more particularly the last paragraph when she asked the question, “Can the President please tell us exactly what is the salary of the Chairman of GuySuCo?”
The government of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has been mindful not to go down the same road as others – that of Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan being the most recent – that have opted for bullish, often brutal responses to popular protest.

Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,
After I considered Simona Broomes’ relentless fight to eliminate trafficking in persons, in which she displayed self-confidence, zeal, dedication, determination and concern for others, I can deservedly brand her the ‘Iron lady’ or local Margaret Thatcher.
“GAWU contends that because of GuySuCo’s `poor husbandry and mismanagement’ there are not enough canes in the ground this crop to meet the corporation’s … target”.
Dear Editor,
The purpose of this letter is to comment on the Linden Commission of Enquiry as it relates to the established doctrine of ministerial responsibility.
Dear Editor,
The University of Guyana issues are antique. All the woes that the University of Guyana Senior Staff Association (UGSSA) and the University of Guyana Workers’ Union (UGWU) are now making public were made public before by the University of Guyana Students’ Society (UGSS).
Dear Editor,
I was amazed to see our Home Affairs Minister and his colleagues voicing their disappointment when his Bills were recently not passed in the National Assembly.
