Everest defeated the Flood-lights XI by 48 runs in a softball showdown at the Everest ground on Camp Street on Friday night.

Everest won the toss, batted, and scored 231 for seven from 25 overs.

Troy Gonsalves struck four boundaries and 12 sixes scoring 99 to lead Everest while Rajesh Singh struck three fours and three sixes scoring 31 not out. Anand Ramnarine and Vickram Morrel contributed 23 and 21 respectively. Skipper Reyaz Husein picked up 3-55 bowling for Floodlights XI.

Floodlights XI, in reply, were dismissed for 183. Vicky Sukanandan stroked four boundaries and five sixes to lead the Floodlights XI with 76 while Richard Latiff contributed 38 including one four and three sixes.

Morrel picked up 2-28 and David Harper 2-44.

Gonsalves received the Man-of the-Match trophy while Everest received the winning team trophy. Both trophies were donated by the sponsors, Trophy Stall/ Awards City Mall.
