Street lights needed in road where attempted robbery of Anna Catherina goldsmith took place

Dear Editor,
I also live in the street in Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, where the attempted robbery of a goldsmith took place on July 29. I have complained to the NDC since 2003 about the street lights not working.

I offered to pay for the bulbs. I went to the RDO, Mr Ambicar, when he was based at Vreed-en-hoop. He was kind enough to write a letter authorising the lights to be fixed. This was in 2006, and I took this letter to the NDC at Stewartville, but so far nothing has been done, we are still without street lights.  There are other streets around where there are lights that work. There are also other activities going on in this street which I am sure that street lights would curtail.

My sympathy to the family who were attacked.
I live in hope that these lights will be soon fixed.
Yours faithfully,
Kenneth Philip
