-malicious damage accused tells court
Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson remanded to prison a man accused of breaking a glass door valued $100,000 after he told the court “I do wah I do because I get reasons to do it.”

Junior Nedd, 22, of 32 Durban Street, Wortmanville, pleaded not guilty to the charge of malicious damage when he appeared last week in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that on January 6, Nedd unlawfully damaged Jacqueline Olyfvlet’s glass door.
Olyfvlet told the court that Nedd had stolen some groceries from her son’s store and that she had cautioned him about the incident. She said later the same day Nedd had pelted her house and she reported it to the police.
The woman said two days later her son told her that while he was serving customers in the store Nedd pelted it and broke the glass door.

In his defence Nedd told the court that he had had reasons for his actions but he declined to explain further.
The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that more charges are likely to be brought against Nedd.
Nedd was ordered to appear in court on January 21.
