A 48-year-old woman suffered injuries to her face after being stabbed by her drinking partner on the Houston, East Bank Demerara public road last evening. She also injured him.

Yvonne Austin of Agricola was reportedly drinking “a quarter” when the duo got into an argument. Reports are that the man attacked her and stabbed her to her face but she also picked up a bottle and stabbed him in his hand. Up to last evening, the woman was receiving treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital while her attacker was taken to the Ruimveldt Police Station. Austin was said to be in a stable condition.
