Woman stabbed after argument over wine

An argument between two women over a glass of wine at a Stabroek square drinking spot on Thursday night led to an altercation that resulted in one being stabbed several times. Tahirah Duke, 33, of Linden, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital shortly before 9pm on Thursday. The woman was
reportedly stabbed three times by a woman who had been drinking at the same night spot.

When Stabroek News visited the hospital yesterday afternoon, Duke was resting and could not speak. She is a patient of the Female Surgical Ward. However, this newspaper learnt from the hospital’s Public Relations Officer Alero Proctor that the injured woman was in a stable condition.
