Armed intruder shot in Prashad Nagar yard

A cutlass-wielding intruder who entered a yard at Prashad Nagar yesterday has been admitted to hospital after he was shot several times by a licensed firearm holder during a scuffle.

According to the police, an injured man, Trevor Boston, was subsequently found in an alleyway at Prashad Nagar, Georgetown, “with suspected bullet wounds to his body”. There was no mention of how many times the man was apparently shot or under what circumstances.

Boston is now a patient of the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Hospital under police guard. Hospital officials told this newspaper that the man was shot multiple times and his condition is listed as serious.

Contacted, Crime Chief Seelall Persaud explained that according to reports, a man armed with a cutlass entered a yard at Prashad Nagar where he confronted an occupant who is a licensed firearm holder. He said that during the altercation, several rounds were discharged at the intruder who managed to flee.

According to Persaud, some time later, Boston was found but investigators have not yet established if he was the intruder. Asked if the man was known to the police he said that he was unable to say at this stage.

Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding Boston’s injuries.
