Hit and run leaves Stevedore woman in serious state

Yonette Neptune of 3407 Stevedore Housing Scheme is nursing two broken legs in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was the victim of a hit and run on Tuesday.

The woman is slipping in and out of consciousness. She managed to give her name and address in her brief moments of consciousness.

Surgery was done on her feet to insert steel. She also sustained injuries to the head and a fractured neck, the hospital said.

According to reports, the woman was hit by a vehicle on the corner of Norton Street and Cemetery Road some time between the hours of 2.30 to 4 am on Tuesday. She was said to be lying there until a passing security vehicle picked her up and took her to the hospital.

When this newspaper visited the woman in the hospital she was not awake and there was no one visiting her at the time.
