Comfort Sleep and Pegasus Hotel yesterday confirmed their sponsorship of the second staging of the Caribbean Fury boxing card, titled ‘Caribbean Fury 2’ which will be held at the Princess Hotel on November 6.
Both entities presented cheques for undisclosed sums of cash in support of the upcoming bout to members of the events promotion group, Co-promoter Leon Moore and Kirk Clarke at the companies’ respective location.
The second staging of the bout will see some of the Guyana’s top boxers trading punches with fighters from Venezuela, the United States, Columbia, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada and Dominica.
According to promoter, Carwyn Holland, when contacted by Stabroek Sport yesterday, “the companies have recognized the magnitude of the event” and thus got on board with the second installment of the bout.
“The companies both feel corporate sponsors should get on board so as to market Guyana’s sports tourism” Holland stated, adding that the fight card is now an annual event.
