Farfan and Mendes enters 15th year of sponsoring U-15 cricket

Farfan and Mendes Ltd has again sponsored another year of cricket for the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club under-15 team for the 15th successive year.

According to a press release, the Georgetown-based company first sponsored the team in 1997 and since then the RHT Farfan and Mendes team has grown to be one of the most successful  youth teams in Berbice.

The club has won a number of  championships while also producing several national and Berbice players.

The secretary/CEO of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports club, Hilbert Foster expressed his gratitude to Farfan and Mendes for its investment in the club and the role it continues to play in the development of young cricketers. The team over the years has won the Berbice championships thrice and has produced eleven national under–15 players and 27 for Berbice.

Through the company’s sponsorship several outstanding players have emerged, including Assad and Abdel Fudadin, Delbert Hicks, Royston Crandon, Dominic Rikhi, Shawn Pereira, Parmanand Narine, Murphy La Rose and Shevon Marks.

The under–15 team are the current defending champions for Berbice and are in the quarter-finals of the current tournament.

Captain Arif Chan pledged that his team will continue its winning ways and he also thanked  Farfan and Mendes for its long service of sponsorship which aids in the development of the young players.
