Man shot by bandit in ‘C’ Field

At 1900h on Monday,  police say that Wayne Porter, 26 years, of ‘B’ Field Squatting Area, Sophia; and Rayon Harrop, 23 years, of Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, were outside of a shop at ‘C’ Field, Sophia, when they were attacked by two men armed with handguns.

The police said that a scuffle ensued between the victims and the perpetrators during which Porter was shot to his left thigh. The armed men then took away an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of gold jewellery from the victims and escaped, police said.

Porter was admitted to the GPHC for treatment and subsequently discharged.
