Hikers, All Greys remain unbeaten

Hikers and All Greys continued their unbeaten run in the John Fernandes Insurance Second division hockey tournament following the latest matches played Saturday at the St. Stanislaus ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Hikers secured a 2-0 win over Saints while All Greys clubbed Old Fort 4-2.
With this latest win, Hikers remain at the top of the points table with 12 points followed by All Greys in second position on nine points.

GCC are currently on six points, Old Fort three while Saints and Airbenders are still to make their mark on the points table.

Hikers’ unassailable 2-0 triumph highlighted  the team’s commanding form in the two-round competition.

Andrew Stewart and Leon Bacchus were the goal scorers for the victors All Greys.

The team of former national players dominated Old Fort in the first game of the double header card.

Azad DeAbreu, Alan Fernandes, Damon Woodroffe and Ivor `Nancy’ Thompson netted a goal each for the veterans.

Old Fort goals were scored by Fitzroy Leitch and the in-form Deon Carew.

The tournament continues this afternoon with All Greys taking on GCC at Bourda ground.
