Braithwaite bang on target in Recorded Shoot

Former National champion Lennox Braithwaite shot three possibles in a fine display of precision shooting at last Sunday?s Recorded Shoot as the National squad continues preparation for the West Indies Fullbore championships to be hosted by Guyana next month.

Braithwaite recorded a grand total of 150 points with 15 V-bulls out of a Highest Possible Score of 150 points and 30 V-bulls in a remarkable performance at the Timehri Rifle Ranges.

He shot 50 with five Vs in 300, 50 with four Vs at 500 and 50 with six Vs at 900 yards. National Vice captain Dylan Fields secured second position with 144 points and 13 Vs with 49.5 at 300, 48.5 at 500 and 47.3 at 900 yards.

Third place went to captain Mahendra Persaud with 142 points and 10 Vs while Ransford Goodluck  placed fourth with 141.9,  Ryan Sampson  fifth with  135.4 and Claude Duguid sixth with 120.3. Richard Fields the other shooter in the X Class only shot one range.

Lt. Col Terrence Stuart was first in the “O” class with 130.7, Peter Persaud second with 128.7 and Charles Deane third with 121.2.

Meanwhile, Vivian Grant of Durban Street, Lodge was the winner of the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) fund-raising raffle held last weekend at Olympic House. Second place went to Dwayne Bancroft of Tucville with Alex Persaud of Brickery, East Bank Demerara claiming the third place prize. The other prize winners were S. Sawh of Mon Repos, Kevin Husband of GGMC, Cathyann Henry of C&V Shipping, Ravin of Grove, R. Chetty of Bel Air Village and Glorya Ceasar of Waamard Village.

The GNRA would to express gratitude to all patrons of the raffle and Bar-B-Que as the association prepares to host the West Indies Fullbore championships next month.
