Tucville woman fined after police station outburst

An angry expletive-filled outburst at a police station has cost a Tucville woman $5,000 and an admonishment to learn to control her temper.

Michelle Samuels, 38, of Lot K18997 Perry Street, Tucville, yesterday pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Samuels admitted to Magistrate Ann McLennan that on August 13, she behaved disorderly at the East La Penitence Police Station.

She also apologised to the court for her behaviour and promised that there would be no repetition. “I was upset at the time. It won’t happen again,” she said.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones told the court that Samuels went to the Police Station to enquire about a matter concerning her son and she got angry and started cursing and yelling.

Jones added that she was arrested and charged after she did not adhere to being cautioned about her behaviour.

Magistrate McLennan told Samuels that she must learn to control her temper and respect the law and the police officers. The magistrate ordered her to pay a $5,000 fine or spend one week in jail.
