Port Kaituma boy, 8, shot in eye with pellet

An eight-year-old boy is expected to be air dashed to the city today for medical treatment after being shot in his eye at Port Kaituma.

Stabroek News was told that the child, Delson Mills, a Grade Three student, was rushed to the Port Kaituma Hospital by his teacher after the shooting, which was committed by an older student who was armed with a pellet gun. A doctor at the hospital said that urgent medical attention was needed in Georgetown and efforts were being made to have him be flown out to Georgetown today.

The shooting occurred shortly before noon but it was not clear, however, how the child was shot.
