Campbellville senior laments malicious damage to car

A senior citizen woke up yesterday morning to find the tail lights and back windscreen of his motor car smashed in, while the front windscreen was badly damaged.

Mervyn Butts, 72, told Stabroek News, that he woke up around 6 am, and found his Toyota Spacio, that was parked in front of his Lot 52 John and Sheriff Street, Campbellville home, very different from the state he left it the night before. The man said he believes that the damage to his vehicle was malicious and he can guess who the assailant was, since nothing was stolen from the car.

Butts said that he is still counting the cost of the damage. “This front screen alone is about one million dollars to replace,” he lamented.
