Khan and Cooper star in final Super50 trial

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- An all-round performance from Imran Khanand a powerful half century from all-rounder kevon Cooper inspired the A side to a 57 run win over the B side inTrinidad and Tobago’s final Super50 trial match on Monday.

Cooper slammed four sixes and four fours in a 68-ball 69 before his teammate Khansnatched four wickets for 15 runs in ten overs with his leg-spin at the Queens park oval.

Khan also contributed with the bat, hitting 43 off 67 balls to help T&T A reach a competitive 187 all out off 44.5 overs.

Leg-spinner Yannic Cariah was the chief wicket-taker for T&T B, grabbing five for 30 from 8.5 overs, including the wickets of Cooper and Khan.

T&T B could only muster 130 for eight when the overs ran out.

T&T Cricket Board chairman of selectors Alec Burns said the final squad for the Super50 tournament should be finalised by next week.

The players will clash again this weekend in a three-day trial match at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva.
