Knock-out football tourney continues tonight

August Beverages and Sparta Bosses small goal knock-out football competition continues tonight with the quarterfinals from 7pm at the Sparta Turf in Go Slow Avenue, East La Penitence.

The competition which is being touted as ‘the best of the best’ will feature several national players who will compete in approximately 30 minutes of game time.

Tonight’s matches will see four teams exiting the tournament while the winning teams will advance to the semi-finals which is set for June 6. The teams competing in tonight’s matches are Broad Street, Leopold Street, Fruit Stand, Future, Sparta Bosses, Sixth Street, Tiger Bay, North and South Ruimveldt and Campbellville.

The winners of the tournament will be presented with $300,000. There will also be an exhibition game between the August Beverage and Sparta Bosses teams that will see the winners earning $4,000,000 as their victory reward.

As part of the side attractions, Rainbow Fashion will be hosting an event dubbed “females shootout” for patrons. This will allow female spectators who are randomly selected from the crowd to participate in a penalty shootout.

The tournament is being sponsored by Rainbow Fashion and August Beverages.
