As part of the continued efforts to expand the sport of bodybuilding and fitness, the local federation has reached out to the town of Bartica and the Barticians have responded.
According to president of the federation, Coel Marks. Fitness athletes and the top brass of the bodybuilding federation will be a part of their township celebrations this weekend.
“Mayor Gifford Marshal formally extended his support by hosting us over the holiday weekend,” said Marks yesterday.
The federation’s head added “At the celebration we’ll feature local bodybuilders and showcase a few athletes. We also have Q&A sessions with the youths of Bartica to help build and convey a better understanding of the benefits of adopting a healthier lifestyle.”
Marks continued “We hope to foster stronger ties with outlying communities of Georgetown. In the short future we will be hosting a competition up there to further the causes of the GBBFFI.”
