Dear Editor, All too often we read complaints in the newspapers and rarely do we hear of the follow up to what the response was to the complaint.

Dear Editor, Guyanese have a saying that is part funny, part serious: “hole out fuh price.” 

When public officers who knowingly place themselves in harm’s way in pursuit of enforcement of the law are harmed or come under attack from those whose criminal pursuits they seek to deter, not only do law-abiding citizens have a duty to roundly condemn such acts and to insist that the perpetrators are determinedly ferreted out and suitably punished, but the state itself has an obligation to place every available resource at the disposal of the effort to hunt down and apprehend the guilty parties.

Dear Editor, The Health Department of the Region #3 Administration has some practices that are in conflict with Public Service Ministry Rules and Regulations with regards to the employ of Nursing Staff at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

Dear Editor, Efforts by the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) via the media to elevate the conversation of race and employment within this institution with the statistical breakdown of those in its employ are noted (SN June 10, 2018).

Dear Editor, The Chairman of Gecom should be lauded for taking the bold step of quickly releasing those staff numbers and identifying the ethnic composition of the entity. 

Dear Editor, Some form of action needs to be taken by the Ministry of Social Protection to avoid the unbearable recurring punishment which old age pensioners have to endure when they turn up at the Suddie Post Office to collect their money at the beginning of the month.

Dear Editor, I find it quite strange that some of the policies at Republic Bank are not customer friendly.
