Yarrowkabra woman robbed of jewels, cash by gunmen

A Yarrowkabra businesswoman was robbed at gunpoint of thousands of dollars in jewellery, cash and other articles early Thursday morning when four armed men invaded her home.

Police have four persons in custody assisting with investigations into the incident.

Simone Webster, 36 of Lot 171 Yarrowkabra, Linden/ Soesdyke Highway was robbed of $178,000 in gold jewellery, $90,000 cash and other articles valued $100,000.

According to reports from the police, Webster who operates a shop at her home, secured her premises and retired to bed along with her husband.

Sometime after, a knocking on the door aroused her followed by demands to open it.

On checking, four men confronted her, three of whom were armed with handguns and the other with a cutlass.

The suspects help her at gunpoint and bound her husband’s hands and feet with duct tape before robbing her. They then made good their escape.
