‘Take it easy’, road accident victim had told son-in-law

Jane Ivy Thompson, who died in an accident last week Sunday, had told her son-in-law to “take it easy” on the road and while he obeyed her, an apparently reckless driver overtook another vehicle on the busy East Bank roadway and slammed into their car.

Eglon Edwards, who was the driver of the burgundy Carina AT 192, said he had promised his mother-in-law that he was going to be careful. “We were on Homestretch [Avenue] and she said ‘Eglon take it easy’ and I said “Moms I know you in the car I would always take it easy. But I could do nothing when the car crash into us
