Projects that shine only in the minds of the deluded

Dear Editor,

Now that the revelation has been handed down that we never had a secondary school in Regions One, Seven, Eight and Nine before the JPE (Jagdeo Pradoville Era) and the PRE (Proletarian Revolutionary Era) we are eagerly awaiting the announcement that Mahaica had no multilateral school before these two pristine eras.

Surely thousands of parents are willing to donate 450 gallon tuff tank containers, put a foundation, paint and a little window to make libraries. But they may wonder about the projects of the President’s Youth Initiative Programme that shine only in the minds of the deluded but languish in the towns and villages.

Perhaps to improve competence in English at CXC and elsewhere the honourable Minister should make compulsory the study of all speeches by His Excellency and Cabinet.

For mathematics the minister may make it compulsory to unravel how the headteacher’s quarters at Kabakaburi absorbed $192,000 for a payment cost of $1.490m. We will then be on our way to CSEC glory.

Yours faithfully,

P Lall
