CEO says Caribbean Airline will not repeat BWIA’s mistakes

The chief executive officer of Caribbean Airline yesterday assured President Bharrat Jagdeo that the new carrier is taking steps to ensure that passengers get value for their money.

According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release Peter Davies told Jagdeo that past mistakes of the British West Indian Airways (BWIA), will not be repeated. “We are conscious of our responsibility for making sure we provide good, safe, on time, value for money airlift into the country,” Davies said.

Caribbean Airline, on January 1, replaced BWIA which served the aviation sector for more than 66 years. BWIA was known for its tardy flights and other flight complications.

Davies said stakeholders have put in substantial work to make the airline a success and so far passenger response has been positive. The meeting was hosted at the Office of the President.
