Sir Vivian Richards for `Rasta’ versus `Bald Head’ clash

The Rasta football unit will have their opportunity to exact revenge on the `Bald Head’ side when the two clash in an over-40 fixture Sunday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground from 7pm.

The Bald Head side had defeated the `Rasta’ unit when they met two years ago.

According to coordinator of the event, Allan ‘Ball’ La Rose, the tables could turn for the `Rasta’ side with the inclusion of two overseas- based players.

La Rose said that Trinidad’s Brian Williams along with Adrian Hall were expected to make an appearance for the `Rasta’ side while famed former West Indian batsman, Sir Vivian Richards and his brother Mervin Richards would be come in for the `Bald Head’.

In addition to the feature `Rasta’ vs `Bald Head’ match, a Georgetown women’s team will take on a Buxton women’s team in the first match of the double-header card beginning at 5pm at the same venue.

La Rose said that the event is being held to commemorate the Bicentennial Abolition of the British American Trans-Atlantic Slave trade which is celebrated internationally on March 3 this year.

There will be a fee of $200 to enter the ground. La Rose urged football fans to come out and witness the turning of the tide for the `Rasta’ side against the ‘Bald Head’ unit. (EJ)
