Banks pledges continued assistance to ‘Rasta’ versus ‘Baldhead’ clash

Mortimer Stewart, Banks DIH Sales and Marketing representative, yesterday pledged the company’s continued assistance to the `I’ Movement Group promoters of tomorrow’s ‘Rasta’ versus ‘Baldhead’ football clash.

Giving brief remarks after handing over the trophies and replicas for the clash, Stewart said his company was pleased to be associated for the second time with the event.

Promoter Allan `Ball’ La Rose thanked the company for its assistance and said that the promoters were still working to get former West Indies cricket captain and ‘Master Blaster’ batsman Sir Vivian Richards here for the clash.

La Rose said that the group was finding it difficult to get the ‘Master Blaster’ out of Guyana and back home in time for Monday which is his birthday, adding that activities are planned back in Antigua for Sir Viv who is a national hero on the island. La Rose and technical director Gordon `The Ultimate warrior’ Brathwaite received the winning team’s trophy and replicas. It was also disclosed that GT&T had promised the group the sum of $75,000 for the losing team.

La Rose also took the opportunity to thank the sponsors including Swiss House, Ministry of Sports, Oasis Water and Trophy Stall for their assistance.
