Two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, on Saturday afternoon attempted to rob a business at Industrial Site Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
According to a release from the police, contractor Lakeram Etwaroo of Diamond, East Bank Demerara was paying employees when the suspects confronted him and demanded that he hand over the money. He refused and a scuffle ensued during which the armed suspect was disarmed and both of them subsequently escaped.
One 9 mm Taurus Pistol was handed over to the police who are investigating.
