Chamber of Commerce urges officials to enforce littering fines

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is calling on the authorities to maintain their efforts and to enforce the penalties for littering as the Cricket World Cup is imminent.

In a press release, the GCCI said its president and council commend the authorities and businesses for the “splendid job they have done in beautifying” Georgetown and its environs as presenting a clean environment will facilitate efforts to market Guyana as a tourist stop. At the same time the GCCI is calling on citizens to fight against indiscriminate dumping.
