Grove teen undergoes surgery after hit by bus

Fourteen-year-old Rosetta Garnett who was hit by a speeding route 42 minibus at the weekend has undergone emergency surgery and is still in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital.

She suffered a fractured skull in the accident. Yesterday, relatives said she was still critical but stable.

Monica Dummett, the child’s grandmother, told this newspaper that she looked much better yesterday than she did on Sunday but she was still not breathing on her own.

The woman said the doctors have informed her that the child’s body has been reacting positively to medication but she is still unconscious.
