Cricket visitor treated at Georgetown hospital

An overseas-based Guyanese was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday morning after feeling ill while at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Haniff Bacchus, 65, was taken to the medical institution around 11.10 am but after spending several hours in the treatment room, he was discharged.

Minister of Health Dr. Leslie Ramsammy told Stabroek News that the man developed some anxiety problems while at the Stadium and was tended to by the medical team there. He said the team felt he was alright, but as a precaution he was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention.

Commenting on the state of medical services at the stadium, Ramsammy said that everything is in place. On Wednesday when the first match was held at the new location, patrons were treated for several minor complainants by the medical team there.
