The PNCR leadership and Team Alexander should have dialogue

Dear Editor,

Please permit the publishing of my reaction to the internal squabbling in the PNCR. I think both the PNCR leadership and Team Alexander should sit down and have frank discussions on the events before and after the recently concluded congress, and determine where these public confrontations are going in regards to the image of the party.

It appears to me that the tail is wagging the dog and the party leadership is lacking in coming to a resolution in preventing their dirty linen from being washed in public view. In the history of the party we have had similar occurrences with party executives with leader Forbes Burnham and Desmond Hoyte, but it has never sunk this low, and we have had more important party executives in various fallouts.

Mr Corbin, you need to ponder seriously and make sound decisions, you will have to agree mistakes were made in the leadership role resulting in the escalation of these behavior patterns, and the state of the party presently. This controversy is becoming more personal than political, and the party is expected to come first, so being the leader you are able to put an end to it and move forward. The party has a lot of work ahead to do and this serves as an unnecessary distraction.

To Team Alexander no doubt your intentions are good, but your decorum could be questioned.

Don’t destroy the entire house because you do not have a mutual agreement to fix a window, grab a copy of Mark Kirton and Cedric Grant’s book, we should always be able to resolve conflicts with dialogue and peaceful means.

Please remember you guys are in the opposition and unity must be your strength.

Yours faithfully,

B Blackman
